This guide covers how to claim your principal and yield, the timing of the settlement process, and any applicable fees.

The Settlement Process

The settlement process begins as soon as a market's outcome is officially declared. It involves two main phases:

Resolution: Once the event ends, we verify the official result. The smart contract then calculates the final payout multipliers based on the total stakes on the winning side.
Fund Withdrawal: For No-Loss markets, the pooled USDC is withdrawn from third-party protocols like Aave. While this is typically instant, the exact timing can depend on the external protocol's processing speeds or potential network congestion.

Once both phases are complete, the market status will change to "Claimable."

Navigate to the settled market page or to your portfolio.
You will see a breakdown of your return: your original principal plus your share of the yield (if you picked a winning outcome).
Click the "Claim" button.
Confirm the transaction in your wallet. You will need a small amount of ETH on Base for the gas fee.
After the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, the funds will appear in your wallet balance.

Network Gas Fees: You are responsible for paying the gas fees on the Base network for all on-chain actions, such as staking and claiming.
Platform Fees: A 10% platform fee is taken from the generated yield, never from your principal. This fee supports the ongoing development and maintenance of the platform.

Your final returns combine a relatively stable base APR from lending platforms with a multiplier based on the odds distribution.

Base APR: Your funds earn a stable lending rate from platforms like Aave. This APR is generally consistent throughout the staking period with only minor variations.
Odds Multiplier: The final multiplier depends on how the odds evolve based on user staking patterns. Earlier stakers get better time-weighted positioning, but the odds can shift as more users participate.
Current Rates: You can check Aave's reserve overview to see the current USDC lending rates on Base.

The core concept is simple: stable APR from lending × multiplier from odds = your final return.

Open: The market is accepting stakes.
Resolving: The event has finished, and the market is waiting for the official outcome and for funds to be withdrawn from third-party protocols.
Claimable: The settlement process is complete, and you can now claim your principal and any earned yield.
Settled: You have successfully claimed your funds, and the market is closed for you.
